Methanhydrate, is not only a clean fuel, its use is bearingalso some difficulties and even dangers to our environment,likeit is a 30 times worse greenhouse gas than carbondioxidandcould, if getting into the athmosphere in great amounts, endanger our worlds climate.

For example an earthquake or a vulcanoe underneath an methanhydrate field would shake or heat the ice and unstable the solid condition, and also if a warm current influenced a field, gas could escape, including more toxic gases than only methane, which exists also partly in the icey substance.

Some people say the global warming would only affect the upper layers of the sea and first the polar ice would melt and by this the hydrostatic pressure on the methanhydrate would increase, and so the system would stay stable by itsself.

But methanhydrate occure also beneath the sea under the earth and it also stables rocks underthe watersurface and could if removed accuse tsunamis, when underwater mountains should slide down.
