Because methane hydrates represent a potential new source of
clean energy, international programs to determine the location
and concentration of the hydrates within marine sediments have
started to accelerate. The "clean" aspect of methane hydrate is
partly the fact, that only water molecules include the gas, and also
that only carbondioxide and water emerge by the combustion of
methanhydrate.

Methanhydrates could be valuable fuel, but still it can´t
be removed profitably from the bottom of the sea. The main
issue is the rapid dissolution of the hydrate when pressure decreases
and temperature is rising by bringing the hydrate to the surface of
the sea. Most of the"burning ice"would escape straight forward into the
atmosphereand get lost instead of bring advantages like its fuel value.
Compared to other fuels like oil or petrol, methane is not that rich in fuel
value, but itsamount is compensating this fact easily.
Finally scientists managed to creategashydrate artistically,which
means, that it is now ready tobe used as a storage condition of aggregation.

| This could be really usefull for the transport and storage of gas, for it has no longer to be set under high pressure, because there is only low temperature neccessary to keep it in a small dimension. |
